Just Add Water

My first remedy to incorporate into my life is to drink more water.  Drinking water is good for physical and mental performance, clear skin, digestion and nutrition absorption as well as myriad other benefits so we should all be drinking plenty of water anyway. This is an inexpensive and easy lifestyle change that can have a dramatic result. Many people have spoken of their success treating Patulous Eustachian Tube by hydrating their bodies so i am following their lead.

To calculate how much water to consume a day I take my weight and divide by 2 to determine my water consumption goal (140/2=70 ounces of water a day). Then I drink 8 ounces of water every two hours. I try not to drink any water after 7 pm so I don't wake up in the middle of the night having to go to the bathroom. I set an alarm on my phone to keep myself on track. Is is possible to drink too much water? Yes, to avoid hyponatremia (water intoxication which can lead to death!) I never drink more than 27 ounces in an hour nor do I drink more than 20 liters in a day.

If I do any light exercise I add 8 ounces per day and if I do a heavy exercise I add 16 ounces of water per day.

I leave a glass with 16 ounces of water by my bed at night so when I first wake up I can drink the entire glass. Then I lay in bed for 30 minutes before I start my day.

Why does this work?

Drinking water plumps the Eustachian tube. This allows the tube to close enough that autophony will end. Several surgical and non surgical procedures aim to plump up the Eustachian tube. So this is a known goal with a DIY method.
